Principal Product Designer

I am a Brand and Product Designer with over 15 years of experience crafting solutions in an agency and in-house environments. Over the years, I’ve delivered thoughtful, innovative, and strategic designs solutions for clients like REI, Boeing, Amazon, and Pokémon, to name a few. Every time, my goal is to exceed my clients’ expectations, the stakeholders, and, most of all, the end-users.

My Process

I use an iterative process with the user at the center of it all.

Discovery & Research

Users are interviewed, surveyed, and observed with the intent to identify the needs and goals of users and stakeholders.

Analysis

Translate collected research into personas, scenarios, and user tasks into actionable items.

Design

Develop and design information architecture, wireframes, workflows, and prototypes with the intent to test and validate against the problems and needs of the users.

Test & Repeat

Thorough user testing and feedback improvements are applied and tested again against research and analysis with the goal of continuous improvement.

  • Balancing high-level, holistic reasoning with detail-oriented design solutions. Working closely with product management, marketing, and other designers created and brought ideas to life that instantiated the brand and drove Prime Now’s new business. Responsibilities included:
  • Built and maintained the Prime Now brand identity system
  • Created design solutions that support and reinforce the Prime Now brand across touchpoints (digital, print, packaging, out-of-home, etc.)

Primarily focused on designing on-brand marketing and web materials for sub-brands within the transportation resources, homebuilding, loan servicing, and GPS-enabled entertainment industries. Deliverables ranged from static websites, vehicle wraps, logos, and brochures.

Education Director | June 2013–June, 2015

AIGA, Seattle, WA

Successfully lead a team of 10 volunteers during a two-year term in an effort to revitalize the education programming in the Seattle design community. Efforts included evaluating relevancy of past programming events, needs and wants from local, state, and regional membership, and providing future planning for the years to come. Events included panel discussions, portfolio reviews, lectures, workshops, studio tours, and a regional weeklong conference. Success was measured in the attendance of the events, attendee feedback, and financial profit and loss.
